Di Meglio undergoes arm pump surgery

Reigning 125cc World Champion and 250cc rookie Mike di Meglio underwent surgery to treat ‘arm pump’ in his right forearm on Wednesday afternoon, following a start to the 2009 season in which he has been plagued by the condition.

The Frenchman rushed to Doctor Antonio Landi in Italy following the most recent World Championship round, and the need for surgery was diagnosed. The 40-minute operation leaves Di Meglio with a seven-inch scar and a drip attached to avoid muscular inflammation.

The Mapfre Aspar rider is scheduled to leave hospital today (Thursday).
