Elias takes part in Andorra Supermoto Grand Prix
Team San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Toni Elias enjoyed a special day out last Sunday, making the most of the break in the MotoGP World Championship calendar to make a surprise appearance in the Andorra Supermoto Grand Prix.
Toni took part in the S1 and S2 legs, which were won by the French brothers Thomas and Adrien Chareyre, and enjoyed himself immensely. It was pure adrenaline mixed with important practice in sliding motorcycles on a combination of dirt and tarmac surfaces, ahead of an important appointment next week at Estoril - the scene of his famous victory over Valentino Rossi by just 0.002 seconds.
“I was delighted to accept the invitation to experience the excitement of a Supermoto race," commented the Spaniard. "It was also really good fun to see riders with such a natural gift for sliding the bike in action. It was a different way to spend time before we head to Estoril, a circuit I love and where I hope to be amongst the pacesetters once again.”
