Lorenzo to confirm 2010 plans next week
The rider’s manager states ‘now is the right moment to make a decision’.
MotoGP star Jorge Lorenzo could make an announcement on his future at next week’s Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix, if not before, with a confirmed offer from Ducati and a renewed deal from Yamaha on the table.
According to his manager and representative, Marcos Hirsch, who spoke to motogp.com on Friday (21st August) Lorenzo and his advisors are now considering the two options, with a move onto Honda machinery already ruled out.
Hirsch commented, “Until the middle of this week we were still ticking off the boxes and finalising the offers. We are getting close to concluding our evaluation of the pros and cons of the offers and we acknowledge that now is the right moment to make a decision.”
Without hinting as to what the final decision will be Hirsch also stated that confirmation could come next weekend at Indy, with the announcement made by the relevant team. The rider’s manager added that sporting factors would be the key to the decision, commenting, “money is important but it is at the bottom of our list of priorities.”
