Koyama comments on first Loncin Racing test days

Undertaking his first test days with Loncin Racing in Estoril, Tomoyoshi Koyama has given his assessment of the early going with his new team.

Chinese-powered 125cc outfit Loncin Racing have been testing in Estoril over the past couple of days alongside several other teams competing in the single cylinder class in 2009.

It is early days for the Loncin team with this being their first test of the year, as they prepare for their second season in the World Championship.

Loncin Team Manager Nicola Casadei welcomes Tomoyoshi Koyama into his ranks, to ride alongside Alexis Masbou, who also rode for Loncin in 2008.

Koyama spoke to motogp.com at Estoril on Tuesday saying, “It's difficult to give a totally clear view on how things have gone so far because it is my first test with the team and we are having some small problems that are natural to a bike with a new chassis and new engine.”

The Japanese rider continued, “The chassis feels good initially, but still needs some development. I can’t say that much about the engine yet as I have only done a few laps and need more test time, so I’m looking forward to practicing more at Jerez and Qatar before the season starts.”
