Moriwaki continues development of Moto2 prototype

After assessing its prototype in Valencia the manufacturer has tried new components in Suzuka.

Moriwaki has completed a day of further development of the MD600 prototype at Suzuka.

With Shogo Moriwaki as test rider, new parts developed by engineers of the manufacturer were given an outing with very positive results.

The new improvements will be incorporated into the first prototypes sent to the Gresini team, who have been the first to confirm they will use the Japanese manufacturer’s machines in the new Moto2 category in 2010.


What is Moto2?

Announced as a new 4-stroke MotoGP World Championship class, Moto2 is set to replace the 250cc category from 2010. This new category is intended to be a prestigious yet cost-effective accompaniment to the premier class of MotoGP. Some of the key characteristics of this new category of Grand Prix racing will be the single engine supplier and a single tyre supplier.
