Hungarian replacement to make World Championship debut at Mugello.

The Hungarian rider lined up by Jorge Martinez ‘Aspar’ for the Balatonring Team for the remainder of the 2009 season –replacing Gabor Talmacsi- has been named as 23 year-old Balazs Nemeth.

A late addition to the entry list, Nemeth will make his debut at this weekend’s Gran Premio d’Italia Alice. It will be his first appearance in the World Championship in any class and he will use the number eleven on his Aprilia RSA bike. Ángel Rodriguez had stood in for Talmacsi at the recent Grand Prix de France.

Born in Budapest, Nemeth’s resumé includes stints in Supersport and most recently Superstock 1000 racing, although his greatest successes have come in endurance riding. He is a two-time winner of International 200 mile competitions, in 2005 and 2006.

Talmacsi’s departure from the Balatonring team was confirmed earlier this week in a press conference following a dispute over image rights. He will be present at Mugello this weekend to watch the action and search for a new outfit with which to make a speedy return.
