Pasini pleased with first day on MotoGP bike

Mattia Pasini spoke to motogp.com on Monday at the Brno test, where he was given a debut MotoGP experience by Pramac Racing.

Italian 250cc rider Mattia Pasini was given a big break by Pramac Racing on Monday in the Czech Republic, as he got his first ever chance to test a MotoGP machine.

Pasini lapped a respectable 3.5 seconds off Jorge Lorenzo’s pace-setting best time of the day and he was just sixth tenths behind slowest MotoGP rider Gabor Talmacsi.

He stated, “I am happy with what I could do. Obviously I’m not going to be setting pole position times as I’m just starting. The hardest thing at the moment is braking. The riding position is also totally different to being on a 250cc bike, but the team had already prepared the machine on Sunday night to suit my body shape.”

On the subject of whether he might be seen on a MotoGP machine again before the end of the season, in Mika Kallio’s continued absence from the team covering for Casey Stoner in the factory squad for the next two races, Pasini answered, “I’m not sure yet, but I would not rule it out.”
