Talmacsi enjoys 12-hour Hungarian car race

In between MotoGP’s visits to Estoril and Phillip Island, Gabor Talmacsi used his time off to maintain his fitness in a 12-hour endurance car race in his native Hungary.

Using the weekend in between MotoGP’s trips to Portugal and Australia to good effect Gabor Talmacsi was back home in Hungary, competing in a stamina-sapping 12-hour car race at the Hungaroring.

Representing the Bovi Motorsport Team in a Brokernet Silver Sting car and sharing the driving with three team-mates - Bódis Kálmán, Rácz István and Barta Attila - Talmacsi enjoyed some notable success in the event. His team took first place in the ‘SP2’ category and were second in the ‘Absolut’ class, competing against 38 other teams.

After his impressive 49-lap performance, Talmacsi declared, “It was a case of producing real teamwork, where everybody strived to give the maximum. It was a very hard and intense race to take part in. I’m glad to have been involved in this competition, but now I am concentrating solely on the Iveco Australian Grand Prix, because I need to show all my skill there to get a good result.”
