Talmacsi working on swift comeback
Moto2™ is powered byHungarian looking for racing return after Balatonring split and will be present at Mugello to say goodbye to crew.
One of the big names in the 250cc category at the start of the year, Gabor Talmacsi now finds himself without a ride after a fortnight-long saga with the Balatonring team. The deadlock in reaching an agreement over image rights between the Hungarian and Jorge Martinez ’Aspar’ was confirmed earlier this week in a Budapest press conference and, whilst the team have already lined up a replacement, the former 125cc World Champion is working hard to return to action.
Talmacsi has received –in principle- Aspar’s blessing to find a new team, a testament to the good relationship between the two. He may be sending out feelers this weekend, announcing that he will be present for the Gran Premio d’Italia Alice.
“We have separated without any anger, worthy of sportsmen. I am proud of the results that we achieved together, and that I could be a racer for the Aspar Team. I will go to Mugello anyway, I would like to say farewell to my mechanics and the rest of the team,” said Talmacsi in an official statement.
“I would like to say to my supporters and motorsport fans that together with my friend and manager, Stefano (Favaro), we continue working hard on the possibility of my returning on track very soon. As soon as we have some real information, we will inform everyone.”
