Simoncelli heads 250cc morning run

The fastest rider in the 250cc warmup session was Metis Gilera’s Marco Simoncelli, the reigning World Champion who concludes the front row of the grid for today’s race. His fastest lap of the morning was a 1’40.835.

Hiroshi Aoyama, Mattia Pasini, Alex Debón and series leader Álvaro Bautista all undertook quicker laps than poleman Héctor Barberá, the sixth quickest rider on track in preparation for the Alice TT Assen.

A clean session on a dry track saw only one crash, that of Czech rider Lukas Pesek in a small lowside.
