Two-way tussle in morning MotoGP session sees Spaniard come out on top.
Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi whetted spectators’ appetites for another two-way fight in the MotoGP warmup session, trading possession of the top spot on the timesheet in the final minute of the morning run. Spaniard Lorenzo’s 1’36.928 lap meant that he had the last word in the runout, with Rossi and Ducati Marlboro’s Casey Stoner behind him.
Second place starter Dani Pedrosa and teammate Andrea Dovizioso rounded off the top five, whilst James Toseland clocked the sixth quickest time before lowsiding his Monster Yamaha Tech 3 bike. He was unhurt in the fall.
