De Puniet meets fans at EICMA in Milan
LCR Honda’s French rider met fans at the 2009 EICMA show ahead of an operation to remove screws from his left ankle.
Randy de Puniet attended the 67th edition of EICMA in Milan on Saturday where he signed autographs and posed for photographs with fans. Accompanied by his LCR Honda Team Manager Lucio Cecchinello, the 28 year-old also visited stands of the team’s sponsors (which included GIVI, Revi’t, Arrow, PBR, Rapid Bike, Rizoma, Fren Tubo, Elf, Progrip and Mediaset).
Following the final race of the season in Valencia, De Puniet will now continue the rehabilitation of his left ankle – broken in a motocross training accident in August – by having the screws taken out.
“Before going to the hospital to remove the seven screws from my ankle, I wanted to spend a day at EICMA with Lucio and I really enjoyed the atmosphere!” explained De Puniet. “The fans and team supporters have been very welcoming. I’d like to thank them for their support during the season and hope to share good results with them in the future.”
Cecchinello added, “EICMA is one of the most important events for those involved in motorcycling, and it is also a unique event for the fans because they can meet their favourite riders. Randy has been very friendly with everybody and I am pretty sure we will be coming next year too thanks to the warmth and the hospitality of our supporters”.
The LCR Honda team will return to the track in the new year, for the next scheduled MotoGP test in February at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia.
