Pedrosa going for the win

With a single race victory to his name this season, the final Grand Prix of the season at Valencia is not only a chance for Dani Pedrosa to improve that record, but to do it in front of a home crowd.

The Repsol Honda rider will line up on the front row of the grid alongside Casey Stoner and Jorge Lorenzo, and after Saturday’s effort he is targeting an improvement in his set-up to challenge for the top of the podium.

“At the end of qualifying we had a good lap time but we’ll try to improve our set-up a little bit,” said Pedrosa. “Lorenzo and Stoner are going a little bit faster than me, but we’re going to try and improve the main set-up.”

He continued, “We will push (for the win) because I think the race is not decided. Sure Stoner is in good shape but we will try to do our best and hopefully we can have a great race.”

With a home crowd to cheer him on, Pedrosa knows the significance they can play in helping him find that extra push.

“To have them here is very important, and I will push myself to be my best. But we are racing against other people, so we will try to go with them,” he concluded.
