Corsi gets Sunday started with fastest 125cc warm up lap
Sunday, 30 August 2009
The race day action at the Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix commenced with Fontana Racing rider Simone Corsi setting the fastest time in warm up for the single cylinder class.
The 125cc pace was set by Simone Corsi in the Sunday morning 125cc warm up session at Indianapolis, the Italian rider leading the way by a 0.6s margin from Spain’s World Championship leader Julián Simón (Bancaja Aspar).
In dry conditions, under a partly cloudy sky, Italian rider Corsi, who starts today’s race sixth on the grid, and pole man Simón, were joined in the warm up top five by Sandro Cortese (Ajo Interwetten), Andrea Iannone (Ongetta Team I.S.P.A.) and Pol Espargaró (Derbi Racing Team).
Also looking good were Simón’s team-mates Sergio Gadea and Bradley Smith, along with Smith’s compatriot Scott Redding (Blusens Aprilia).
