Di Meglio fronts Sunday warm up
Moto2™ is powered byMike di Meglio was the quickest 250cc rider in Sunday morning’s warm up, as Mattia Pasini and Álvaro Bautista both crashed.
With grey clouds drawing in, Mapfre Aspar rider Mike di Meglio’s time of 1’33.720 was the fastest of Sunday’s 250cc warm-up practice.
Having qualified in sixth place on the grid, the French rider finished ahead of Héctor Barberá (Pepe World) and championship leader Hiroshi Aoyama (Scot Racing), with defending champion Marco Simoncelli (Metis Gilera) in seventh and pole position holder Raffaele de Rosa (Scot Racing) eighth.
Mattia Pasini (Paddock GP Racing Team) set the fourth-fastest time before crashing on his sixth lap of the practice, and title hopeful Álvaro Bautista’s difficult weekend continued with a high-side spill. Having qualified down in tenth, the Mapfre Aspar rider could only manage twelfth place.
Karel Abraham (Cardion AB Racing) completed the top five, whilst Shuhei Aoyama (Racing Team Germany) also crashed, placing 17th.
