Aleix Espargaró takes to the ice

After taking part in an ice race over the weekend at the Grandvalira circuit in Andorra, Pramac Racing rider Aleix Espargaró gives his reaction to in the attached video.

Aleix Espargaró participated in the fifth and final round of the G.Series which took place at the Grandvalira circuit in Andorra on Saturday, on an ice track measuring 980 metres long. The MotoGP rider, who participates in his first full season in the premier class in 2010, drove a Subaru Impreza alongside team-mate Jordi Casals – a seasoned campaigner in the event – and was very competitive in his first experience in the discipline.

The Catalán rider placed 15th in practice, with a best lap of 51.8 seconds (4.5s off the best of the day), and Espargaró held his own in the field of 25 in the race and crossed the line in 16th place. Taking part in the same race was Joan Nani Roma, a regular participant in the Dakar Rally.

Espargaró had to contend with freezing temperatures that dropped as low as -10°C at some points, in stark contrast to the humid conditions he encountered just over a week previously in the MotoGP test at Sepang and will again face next week at the second test, which takes place from February 25-26.
