Rossi to decide future “by June 2010”

French sports daily L’Equipe echo comments made by Valentino Rossi in the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme journal, in which the Italian says he will decide his future “before June 2010”, and will not exclude the possibility of a change of teams, including a switch to four wheels. “I have a good option to go to Ducati, but before that I must decide my long-term future. I want to continue racing for 10 years, but not on motorbikes.”

Along the same lines, in El Mundo Deportivo it was said that Rossi had “doubts between Yamaha, Ducati and Ferrari”. The Italian’s performance at the steering wheel of a Ferrari again opened speculation of an eventual jump across to F1. The article said “this was not the only ‘risk’ to Yamaha” and that “the Japanese manufacturer has made an offer to Valentino to renew for two more seasons for an amount between 12 and 14 million euro, far off the offer that could be made by Ducati for the same period of time and which could be worth up to 20 million euro”.
