Pierre Monneret , the first French rider to win a Grand Prix, passes away

French daily L’Equipe reports on the sad news of the death of Pierre Monneret, the first French rider to win a Grand Prix, who has passed away aged 79. Monneret won the French Grand Prix at Reims in 1954 in both the 350cc and 500cc categories. In 1956 he finished fourth in the 500cc World Championship.
