Rain affecting opening day at Jerez

Rain affecting opening day at Jerez

The poor weather has made the first morning of the three-day test at the Andalusian circuit one of low activity, with Toni Elías and Sergio Gadea the only riders on track so far.

As it did on the final day of the first official test earlier in the week at Valencia, the rain has interfered with the early part of the first day of the second official Moto2/125cc test at Jerez today (Saturday).

The rain arrived on Friday evening in the Andalusian town and has been forecast to remain throughout the scheduled three days of the test, and has so far severely limited the busy schedule of work planned by the teams of both categories today.

The only two riders on track by 1.30pm local time were Toni Elías (Gresini Racing) and Sergio Gadea (Pons Racing). The former MotoGP rider registered a best time of 2'03.973 from the laps he was able to complete, with Gadea a further second behind.
