Wilairot stars in team presentation in Bangkok

Wilairot stars in team presentation in Bangkok

After his first outing on a Moto2 machine at the Jerez Test, Ratthapark Wilairot took to the stage in his homeland on Saturday as the Thai Honda PTT Singha-SAG team unveiled their 2010 project.

Ratthapark Wilairot of the Thai Honda PTT Singha-SAG team was one of the stars present at the 11th edition of the Bangkok International Motorshow on Saturday, which has been taking place in the capital of Thailand over the past week.

A presentation at the Honda stand revealed the official name of the Thai Honda PTT Singha-SAG team, who in 2010 will incorporate Singha as a sponsor. A replica of the Bimota HB4 chassis the Thai rider will use with the official 600cc Honda engine during this season’s Moto2 World Championship was also on show, and Wilairot travelled to Doha afterwards where he is preparing for the opening Moto2 Grand Prix of the campaign this weekend.

“I am anxious to get on my new bike and to be able to show my full potential, even though I have had no problems adjusting to the new category. I hope the lack of kilometres completed in pre-season will not be a handicap,” said Wilairot, who finished in an impressive eighth place in Qatar last season.

“I hope Qatar will be a Grand Prix at which the team and I can find the final base to work with on the Bimota HB4, and that in the race we can fight for the higher places in the classification,” concluded Wilairot.
