Get onto the grid with Riders for Health and Twitter fundraising event

Riders for Health, the official charity of MotoGP, are giving fans the chance to bid on incredible grid passes for the British MotoGP with two amazing online auctions.

After the success of the first ever TwitGP earlier this season, Riders for Health have decided to hold an online version of their fundraising event, Day of Champions, called #TwitDoC. The event will raise money for Riders for Health’s lifesaving work mobilising health workers in Africa.

Riders for Health are giving people the chance to bid in two auctions. If you want the once-in-a-lifetime chance to be on either the 125 or Moto2 grid before the main race on Sunday 20th June, then this is the auction for you. You will have the chance to be there before British stars Scott Redding, Bradley Smith and Danny Webb begin their home race at Silverstone.

The passes also include a pair of premium paddock passes for the whole day, so you will be at the heart of the action.

All you have to do to bid on these amazing passes is visit, select the auction and make your maximum bid. We will then contact you if you are the successful bidder. The auction closes at 13.00 (BST/GMT+1) on Saturday 19th June, when the winning bidders will be contacted by Riders for Health.

The first ever Day of Champions was 20 years ago this year, and 2010 sees the launch of the very first online version. #TwitDoC will give fans of MotoGP who were not able to come to the real life event the chance to bid on two of the most exclusive lots from this year’s Day of Champions.

The auction will be promoted through Twitter and was the idea of Eurosport commentator and Twitter fan, Toby Moody. Along with commentary partner, Julian Ryder, Toby will be on hand to help promote the auction. It is also hoped that British star and regular Tweeter Bradley Smith will also lend a hand. All of the MotoGP riders helped to raise thousands of pounds for Riders for Health at Day of Champions at Silverstone on 17th June.
