Espargaró pushes his case in warm up

The Tuenti Racing rider was fastest in the 125cc session as the final preparations for the AirAsia British Grand Prix were made on Sunday morning.

Pol Espargaró led the 125cc timesheet in the warm up at Silverstone on Sunday morning, and the Tuenti Racing rider was the only man under the 2’15” mark. Espargaró’s lap of 2’14.841 was over half a second faster than pole holder Marc Márquez, with the Red Bull Ajo Motorsport rider second in the session at a gap of 0.577s.

Bancaja Aspar pair Bradley Smith and Nico Terol, who are both also starting from the front row, were third and fourth respectively in the 20-minute session, with Efrén Vázquez (Tuenti Racing) and Sandro Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo) inside the top six.

British rider Danny Webb (Andalucia Cajasol), who will start the race from the second row, was seventh fastest.

The 125cc race gets underway at 2.30pm local time.
