Nick Harris gives his ones to watch for Sunday

The commentator speculates on who could be celebrating at the AirAsia British Grand Prix on Sunday. You can make your own predictions in the Official Fantasy MotoGP game as well!

Jorge Lorenzo, Claudio Corti and Marc Márquez. The three pole position holders in tomorrow’s AirAsia British Grand Prix at Silverstone as they seek victory in round five. Looking back on a busy day’s qualifying commentator Nick Harris gives his view on who could be fighting for glory in each category’s race on Sunday.

“It’s quite amazing that this is only Jorge Lorenzo’s first pole of the season despite being the Championship leader,” said Nick. “Lorenzo has to be the favourite but I think Dani Pedrosa will be a really big threat if he can get away at the start, and I think he probably will do that. And of course I think there is a chance Randy de Puniet could be on the podium. His two fastest laps were fearful and he was amazing, and I think he could be the man to watch the way he was riding that LCR Honda today!”

Turning to Moto2, Nick commented: “Claudio Corti rode so well and he was really quick in testing at Jerez back in March, but has struggled a little bit in the races. Today he was superb though. It’ll now be really interesting to see how he goes in the heat of the battle. Julián Simón sneaked onto the front row and is a man of experience and I would love to see Jules Cluzel win a Moto2 race, but the trouble is he crashes too much. The weather will play its part as well and it has been cold here.”

And in the 125cc class it was very nearly a home pole for Bradley Smith but Márquez was in superb form to beat him to top spot on the grid. “We said that first Grand Prix win (at Mugello) would open the door for Márquez, and that’s how it appears,” said Nick. “Bradley Smith is right back on the pace and I think it will be a really tight affair between him and the ‘Spanish Armada’. But I do think Márquez will take a fair bit of beating.”
