Márquez unstoppable in 125 early session

125cc pole holder at the TIM TT Assen over a second faster than the rest of the field in the 20-minute warm up session.

Marc Márquez ensured there were no doubts that he is completely prepared to go all out for a third straight win at the TIM TT Assen by warming up as the fastest rider on Saturday morning, going over a second quicker than nearest rival Pol Espargaró.

Setting a fast lap of 1’42.273 to get within 0.082s of his own pole time, the Red Bull Ajo Motorsport rider was a full 1.098s ahead of Tuenti Racing rival Espargaró, who will also start on the front row.

Nico Terol (Bancaja Aspar) was third on the timesheet at just a further 0.027s back, with the gap to Efrén Vázquez (Tuenti Racing) standing at 0.842 as he and Sandro Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo) completed the top five. Bradley Smith (Bancaja Aspar), who starts from second on the grid, was 10th quickest.

There was a crash towards the end of the 20 minutes for Khairuddin Zulfahmi (AirAsia - Sepang International Circuit Team), who was uninjured.

The 125cc race starts at 11am local time.
