Márquez leads Sunday warm up

The pole position holder for the 125cc Gran Premi Aperol de Catalunya completed a clean sweep of all the sessions by warming up fastest ahead of the race.

Marc Márquez gave notice of his undoubted pace and comfort on his Derbi of the Red Bull Ajo Motorsport team on Sunday morning, warming up quickest in the 20-minute session before the race. The 17 year-old, who will start from pole, was the only rider under 1’51” as he went round in 1’50.807.

Cooler air and ground temperatures met the riders (23ºC/25ºC) and front row starters Nico Terol (Bancaja Aspar), Pol Espargaró (Tuenti Racing) and Bradley Smith (Bancaja Aspar) were all inside the top four. Efrén Vázquez (Tuenti Racing) was fifth.

Sandro Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo), Luis Salom (Stipa Molenaar Racing) and Tomoyoshi Koyama (Racing Team Germany) completed the top eight. There was a crash at the end of the session at Turn 9 for Lorenzo Savadori (Matteoni C.P. Racing).
