Sachsenring set-up with Melandri and Jimenez

Sachsenring set-up with Melandri and Jimenez

The San Carlo Honda Gresini rider and his chief mechanic discuss the individual demands of the German circuit on both rider and bike in this special feature.

Short, twisty and technically demanding: the Sachsenring circuit places some very specific demands on both riders and bikes as teams work hard to adjust their machine set-ups to best deal with the German track’s individual requirements.

In this special feature San Carlo Honda Gresini rider Marco Melandri and his chief mechanic Antonio Jimenez discuss a range of issues relating to Sachsenring and how they have been preparing for the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland.

Amongst the subjects touched on by the pair are the set-up of the RC212V, a quick shifter on the gear box, the calculation of gear ratios before arriving and their adjustment during the weekend, the difficulty of overtaking at the track, the durability of different elements of the bike, as well as Melandri’s hopes for Sunday’s race and his current condition following his recent shoulder injury.

Enjoy an in-depth discussion with the duo in the attached video now!
