Fans meet favourites in Brno

Brno city centre hosted a MotoGP extravaganza on Thursday as riders from all three categories met fans.

The Náměstí svodoby Square in Brno city centre was alive with a flurry of MotoGP activity on Thursday ahead of the Cardion ab Grand Prix Czech Republic as riders met fans, signed autographs and witnessed festivities as the Brno Circuit’s 80th anniversary was celebrated with an exhibition.

MotoGP rider Álvaro Bautista, Moto2 stars Gabor Talmacsi, Karel Abraham and Lukas Pesek, and 125cc hotshots Sandro Cortese and Jakub Kornfeil were all present, with some even testing their musical skills on stage.

Premier class rookie Bautista was one of those and the Rizla Suzuki rider is prepared to start the second half of his season strongly. He said: “I hope to have better luck because I had my injury early on in the campaign, and now I want to forget that and start again. I’m confident because I think we can take a big step at Brno.”

The young Spaniard is also hopeful of making some notable advancements in the test that follows the GP on Monday. He added: “We have many things to test on Monday so I hope we’ll improve the bike, and myself as well.”
