Hayden and Noyes warm up for home show

The Moto2 riders were in relaxed moods over the weekend as they prepared themselves for this weekend’s Red Bull Indianapolis Grand Prix.

Roger Lee Hayden and Kenny Noyes took time out for some pursuits of an alternative nature over the weekend, as they both relaxed in the lead-up up to their home race at Indianapolis this weekend.

Jack&Jones by Antonio Banderas rider Noyes visited Indianapolis Zoo on Sunday where he took part in the dolphin show and also met and greeted fans. Hayden, who will ride a wild card entry under the American Honda banner this weekend, was not far away as he threw the ceremonial first pitch at the Indianapolis Indians’ baseball game against the Louisville Bats.

The events followed some on-track action for the duo who both tested at Indianapolis on Thursday and Friday, along with wild card rider Jason DiSalvo. Hayden took out the Moriwaki machine he will compete on and DiSalvo completed laps on the FTR chassis he will race, whilst Noyes rode a Kawasaki 600cc machine to comply with testing rules for full-time riders.

“It actually seems more of a simple track on paper than when you get out there. It’s got some corners where it’s really important to line up for the next transition. It’s a really good thing that we got out here and got to see it so on Friday we’re not so far behind like we’ve been at so many other places,” said Noyes.

Hayden, who completed a two-day test in Alabama earlier in the month, was also pleased to get a run-out on the Indy track. He said: “The track is really nice. We’d like to get a top 10 which will be difficult. We’re going to have to do our best, riding my best ever. The bike’s going to have to be performing well, but that’s our goal.”
