Aprilia and Norton sizing up MotoGP returns

It has been reported in various sources including motociclismo.es that historical MotoGP marques Aprilia and Norton could make a return to the World Championship’s premier class in 2012, the year that the new regulations permit a maximum engine capacity of 1000cc. The article suggests that negotiations on the British factory’s part are at an advanced stage, whilst doubts remain over the Italian brand who it has been indicated may intend to utilise the engines used in superbikes.
