The foundation of a good race and one of the many areas given great detail to by MotoGP teams and riders is the starting process, and in this motogp.com video feature Interwetten Honda rider Hiroshi Aoyama and his Crew Chief Tom Jojic discuss their approach in depth.

Jojic gives a technical lowdown on the preparation and set-up for the race start, including the demands placed on the machine and the strategies used to manage the situation, whilst Aoyama explains how he prepares himself mentally as well as the research he does to assess the best lines to take in those crucial first few turns at each race.

The Japanese rider also talks about his return from injury, having spent nine weeks out of action this season with a fractured vertebra. Watch the entire interview with the duo in the attached motogp.com video.
