Motegi set-up with Rizla Suzuki

Motegi set-up with Rizla Suzuki

Loris Capirossi’s crew chief Stuart Shenton goes through the challenge of setting up the Italian’s GSV-R machine for the upcoming Grand Prix of Japan.

In this video feature the demands of the Motegi track are talked through by Stuart Shenton, crew chief for Loris Capirossi on the Rizla Suzuki team and responsible for helping the Italian set-up his GSV-R for this weekend’s Grand Prix of Japan.

“The character of the track at Motegi is that it’s very hard braking, so we see extreme temperatures on the brakes and on the discs. It’s also hard work for the front tyre. Therefore we need to have a good stability on the brakes, but still maintain the turning of the bike” explains Shenton in the attached video.

Premier class tyre supplier Bridgestone’s Tom Tremayne also discusses the specific demands placed on the compounds by the track layout.
