MCN: Yamaha may keep dividing wall next season

According to MCN it appears that Yamaha are seriously considering keeping the wall which divides their Pit Lane garage on GP weekends. Initially introduced in 2008 to prevent the transfer of data between Michelin and Bridgestone which were being used respectively by Jorge Lorenzo and Valentino Rossi, it remained in 2009 at the request of Rossi when the entire class switched to singly-tyre supplier Bridgestone. It could now stay in 2011 when Ben Spies partners Lorenzo, according to Lin Jarvis.

“My personal opinion is we used the wall for three years and in that period we won everything, so there’s not a lot of negative things about the wall,” he said “It allows the rider and the mechanics to focus on their job and that is very important for each individual athlete. We may well keep the partition.”
