Márquez tops warm up

The pole holder, who is today aiming to seal the 125cc title at Valencia, topped the final session before the race just under seven-tenths of a second clear of rival Nico Terol.

Marc Márquez was again the leading rider in the 125cc class as he led the final 20-minute warm up before the GP Generali de la Comunitat Valenciana on Sunday. The Red Bull Ajo Motorsport rider was the only man to get under the 1’41” mark as he lay down another signal of his intent to claim his first World Championship title later in the day.

Márquez’s time of 1’40.989 was fractionally under four-tenths of a second faster than Pol Espargaró’s (Tuenti Racing), with Bradley Smith (Bancaja Aspar) and Efrén Vázquez (Tuenti Racing) completing the top four.

Sandro Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo) was fifth whilst Nico Terol (Bancaja Aspar), Márquez’s remaining title rival, was sixth at 0.665s off the top time.

The 125cc race is due to start at 11am local time.
