World Championship stars on track for charity

Marco Simoncelli, Andrea Iannone, Mattia Pasini, Lorenzo Savadori and Marco Ravaioli took part in a mini-bike race to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pasini Racing Team over the weekend.

A switch to mini-bikes was the order of the day at the San Mauro a Mare track in Rimini, Italy, over the weekend as a group of Italian World Championship riders gathered to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Pasini Racing Team.

The set-up, run by Mattia Pasini’s father Luca, marked the milestone by organising a special race on bikes much smaller than those which the World Championship riders in attendance are accustomed to.

Marco Simoncelli, Andrea Iannone, Mattia Pasini, Lorenzo Savadori and Marco Ravaioli all competed in the event in which Iannone took victory with Pasini and Ravaioli completing the podium, whilst premier class star Simoncelli was forced to retire three laps from the end of the race with a technical problem.
