Marco Simoncelli: 2010 season review

Marco Simoncelli: 2010 season review looks back over the campaign of each premier class rider with a video which compiles the most pivotal moments of their year.

One of the six rookies in 2010 Marco Simoncelli was undoubtedly a standout performer in his first campaign in the MotoGP class. The Italian, riding on the San Carlo Honda Gresini team, spent the first rounds of the season building his confidence and when it was firmly established he enjoyed a solid run of results.

There was a definite progression in Simoncelli’s results as he overcame what had been a difficult pre-season Testing programme. Some of the most notable highlights of his year included the final two rounds, when Simoncelli fought for a podium finish at Estoril until the very last turn of the final lap and then qualified on the front row at Valencia.

It was a strong end to the year after an impressive development throughout 2010 which saw him finish eighth in the standings overall, as the former 250cc World Champion looked ever more comfortable on the RC212V, a bike he will continue on with full factory support from HRC in 2011.

In the attached video you can review the major points of Simoncelli’s debut season in MotoGP.
