Casey Stoner: 2010 season review

Casey Stoner: 2010 season review

motogp.com looks back over the campaign of each premier class rider with a video which compiles the most pivotal moments of their year.

After a fourth campaign with Ducati in 2010 Casey Stoner opted to seek a fresh challenge for 2011, and the Australian will look back on the season just gone with mixed emotions.

Two crashes in the opening three rounds made for a trying start to the year and it was not until Round 6 at Assen that the 2007 World Champion stepped onto the podium for the first time in 2010.

That was the catalyst for a string of top-three results for Stoner and he was a presence on the podium for five consecutive races. After a blip at Indianapolis a first win of the year came at Aragón and was immediately followed by another at Motegi. A third in his home GP at Phillip Island was testament to the vastly improved feeling Stoner and his crew had found with the GP10 in the second half of 2010.

Signing off from Ducati with a podium finish at Valencia Stoner ended the season in fourth position in the standings, and is now ready for a new adventure as one of three riders on the factory HRC team next year.

You can review Stoner’s 2010 campaign in the attached motogp.com video.
