Pole man Terol confirms pace in 125cc warm up

The Le Mans sunshine continued to beat down on Sunday morning as Nico Terol (Bancaja Aspar) set the fastest lap in the 125cc warm up. The Spaniard’s lap of 1’44.452 placed him at the top of the 20-minute session, 0.271s ahead of fellow front-row starter Pol Espargaró (Tuenti Racing), and Marc Márquez (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport).

Sandro Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo), who will also start the race from the front row of the grid, was fourth quickest in the session, with Randy Krummenacher (Stipa-Molenaar Racing) and Danny Webb (Andalucia Cajasol) also displaying more of the pace that saw them qualify in top eight positions.

French rider Johann Zarco (WTR San Marino Team) was seventh in the session and suffered a fall late on that did not stop him from climbing back on his bike, and was followed by Efrén Vázquez (Tuenti Racing). Jonas Folger (Team Ongetta) and Bradley Smith (Bancaja Aspar) completed the top ten.

The 125cc race is due to get underway at 11am local time.
