Terol tops Sunday warm-up

Nico Terol set the quickest lap in warm-up for the 125cc Gran Premio d’Italia TIM at Mugello on Sunday with a time of 1’58.686, just over three-tenths of a second off Sandro Cortese’s pole position time.

Following Terol on the timesheet was his Championship rival Pol Espargaró, the only other rider in the session under 1’59”, with Marc Márquez (Red Bull Ajo Motorsport) warming up third fastest at six-tenths off Terol’s pace. Espargaró’s Tuenti Racing team-mate Efrén Vázquez was fourth in the session.

Randy Krummenacher (Stipa-Molenaar Racing), Bradley Smith (Bancaja Aspar), poleman Cortese (Avant Mitsubishi Ajo) and Luis Salom (Stipa-Molenaar Racing) completed the top eight.

There was a crash for Sturla Fagerhaug (AirAsia - Sepang International Circuit Team) during the session, which was run with an air and track temperature of 21ºC. The 125cc race is due to get underway at 11am local time.
