A debut season in MotoGP with Aleix Espargaró

Aleix Espargaró’s first full season in the premier class has been one steeped in learning, with positive results, crashes and the added experience of having younger brother Pol battle for the 125cc title all contributing to an eventful 2010 to date.

“At the beginning our objective was to finish in the top ten in all the races we could, but at the start of the season I crashed a lot, maybe because I wanted to do much better than I could. For the second part of the season I am trying to be a little bit calmer and to finish the races and gain more experience,” explains Espargaró, who has six top-ten placements so far and is currently 13th in the standings.

The 21 year-old goes on to discuss the development of the Ducati and how he has adapted to the bike this year, as well as how he hopes to benefit from Valentino Rossi’s development of the Desmosedici GP10 next season. Espargaró also talks about the benefits of having Pol in the World Championship paddock as a figure of support, as the pair cheer one another on throughout this year’s campaign.
