German rider Stefan Bradl took a lot of positives from his first day of testing at Montmeló on Thursday.

Viessmann Kiefer Racing rider Stefan Bradl completed his first day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya on Thursday, and was satisfied with what he accomplished on his Suter chassis.

The former 125cc rider, who is making the step up to the new intermediate class for 2010, explained to motogp.com his thoughts following his opening-day experience.

“I’m happy – we set a good pace and made around 50 laps, and I’m learning the bike,” Bradl said. “I have to learn more with the bike, the chassis, the settings, the 4-stroke engine and everything. I need more and more laps – I’m not looking at the lap times because they are not important at the moment.”

Bradl added: “The acceleration is much better than in 125cc, and you can control the throttle really well. This is completely new for me, and you are also much slower in the corner than 125cc but when you open it up you have so much power.”
