Elías injured in heavy fall at Jerez

Toni Elías had a heavy fall on the final day of the last Official pre-season Test at Jerez on Monday.

The Gresini Racing Moto2 rider hit the asphalt between turns one and two at the circuit when he found his riding line blocked by a slower moving 125cc rider, meaning Elías was unable to avoid going down.

Initial medical observations showed up bruising to the left hand and foot of Elías, indicating the possibility of some type of fracture.

Elías immediately flew to Barcelona to undergo a thorough examination including X-rays, although his first impression is that he will be ready for the start of the season in less than two weeks – the CommercialBank Grand Prix of Qatar on April 11th.
