The battle for Moto2 supremacy

Amongst the front runners in the debut season of the Moto2 class have been Swiss rider Thomas Lüthi of the Interwetten Moriwaki team and Italian Andrea Iannone, riding for Fimmco Speed Up.

After 11 rounds of the Moto2 campaign the duo are separated by just five points, with Lüthi third and Iannone fourth and both hot on the tail of second-placed Julián Simón. Both have experienced highs and lows, Lüthi having collected five podium finishes, the majority of which came despite a broken collarbone injury, whilst Iannone has taken two wins and two further podiums in a campaign that has also seen the Italian miss out on another victory at Catalunya, when he incurred a Ride Through penalty.
