Lorenzo lends support to charity

Monday, 1 February 2010

The Spanish rider is one of a group of sportspeople who have given their time to pose for a photographic exhibition called ‘A tear for Africa’, organised to raise funds for the charity Caya-Africa.

Jorge Lorenzo has been photographed by Joan Valls for a collection titled ‘A tear for Africa’, which has been organised by the journalist to raise funds for the non-governmental organisation Caya-Africa, a charity dedicated to helping improve life expectancy in the continent.

Lorenzo, a well-known FC Barcelona fan, posed in a shirt of the Spanish champions and had a black tear under his left eye, as did others who took part in the photoshoot. FC Barcelona players Lionel Messi, Carles Puyol and Gerard Piqué, RCD Espanyol’s Carlos Kameni and Raúl Tamudo, swimmer Gemma Mengual and tennis stars Maria Kirilenko, Carla Suárez and Anabel Medina were all also photographed, and the exhibition will be shown in Barcelona on February 11.

Lorenzo will now travel to Malaysia for the first official MotoGP Test of 2010 at the Sepang International Circuit, which takes place from February 3-5.
