Krummenacher states podium ambitions at STIPA-Molenaar presentation
The 125cc World Championship team made their official 2010 presentation in Switzerland over the weekend, with riders Randy Krummenacher and Quentin Jacquet both present.
STIPA-Molenaar Racing GP unveiled their new colours for 2010 in Switzerland over the weekend, with riders Randy Krummenacher and Quentin Jacquet. Swiss rider Krummenacher will be with the team for a second year, whilst Frenchman Jacquet enters the World Championship for his first full season with the team.
Krummenacher has been training with friend and compatriot Formula 1 driver Sebastien Buemi of the Toro Rosso team at the Red Bull training facilities in Thalgau (Austria), who was at the team presentation. Krummenacher hopes that his pre-season regime will make for a strong second season with Arie Molenaar’s team.
Krummenacher, whose best result last season was ninth in the final race at Valencia, said: “After a difficult year in 2009 on the Aprilia RSA I’m confident that this year the performance will be better. The last race at Valencia, where I fought for fourth position, has pushed me to fight a top five finish in every race this year! During the winter I worked hard on my fitness. I know my goal to compete and be part of the top riders in the world is ambitious, but I will use the coming tests to prepare myself for the season.”
Krummenacher has been undertaking the most intense pre-season programme since his debut in the World Championship, which came at Donington in 2006. He has been riding with his Aprilia in Almeria, Cartagena and Motorland, as well the official tests at Valencia and Jerez where he was 12th and ninth fastest respectively.
Jacquet is confident his team-mate will help him to develop in his first season, and is targeting his first points at his home Grand Prix at Le Mans. He said: “I’ll use this season as a learning year and try to achieve the best possible results.”
The next stop for both riders will be the final official pre-season test at Jerez, scheduled for March 27-29¸ before the season starts under the floodlights in Qatar on April 11th.
