Inside the MotoGP paddock with Mary Spies

Ben Spies is seven races into his debut MotoGP season and right by his side throughout has been his mother and manager Mary. In this video feature motogp.com speaks to Mary during the qualifying session at the last round at Catalunya, to find out her experiences and the support she provides to Ben.

“For sure in MotoGP everybody has been very respectful, very friendly and very supportive. It’s been wonderful,” explained Mary in the attached video. “I worry about Ben, no question, but he is doing what he wants to do and he’s happy.”

Mary also discussed her role as part of ‘Team Spies’, adding: “I take care of his personal things, a lot of logistics. When I’m here at the races I just let him see that I’m available but everything has been running so smoothly this year.”
