Race Director Paul Butler explains the different flags and lights used in the World Championship in this video feature.

Safety is paramount in a sport in which riders travel at speeds in excess of 300 km/h, and with the added factors of changeable weather conditions and the complex mechanical processes involved in MotoGP a system of notifying riders quickly and efficiently of any changes in circumstances whilst they are on track is essential.

In this video feature MotoGP Race Director Paul Butler explains the most important flags and light signals used to relay important information to the many riders on track, thus ensuring that the World Championship remains as safe as possible at all times.
