Shell Advance to support 2010 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix
The Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix will take place at Sepang, Malaysia on 10th October, 2010.
Shell Lubricants, manufacturers of Shell Advance, a leading motorcycle lubricant brand, and Ducati’s Technical Partner has renewed its support for the Malaysian round of the MotoGP World Championship, thereby naming the October race the Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix. This agreement follows Shell’s highly successful activation of its Shell Advance title rights at last year’s race. It is the latest step in an ongoing relationship between Shell and Dorna Sports S.L.
Tanmay Jaswal, Shell Advance Global Marketing Manager, said: “We are delighted to announce the renewal of our support for the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix. Our relationship with Ducati allows us to develop our skills and products in the ultimate testing laboratory – the racetrack. We are proud of our history in motorcycle racing and Shell Lubricants’ support for the 2010 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix is a further commitment to the popular sport of motorcycle racing in an important part of the world for us.”
Pau Serracanta, Dorna Sports S.L. Managing Director said: “We are thrilled to welcome Shell Advance back to support the 2010 Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix. We all enjoyed their support in 2009 and the exciting race won by the Shell Advance-supported Casey Stoner. We are always happy to work with a partner that shares our view of the importance and high profile that MotoGP enjoys in Asia.”
Shell has been a key player in motorcycle racing for over a century and the current relationship with Ducati Corse dates back to 1999. In 2003, Shell Advance accompanied Ducati Corse as it made the step to MotoGP. In that time, Shell Advance has powered and protected Ducati MotoGP engines en route to 28 wins, 68 podium places and of course the Riders’, Manufacturers’ and Teams’ World Championships in 2007.
The Shell Advance Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix will take place at Sepang, Malaysia on 10th October, 2010.
