Simón rolls at Jerez in Ducati MotoGP test

Spanish rider Julián Simón, the current 125cc World Champion who is just about to embark on the debut Moto2 season with the Mapfre Aspar team, had his first taste of the MotoGP class as he tested the Ducati GP10 for two days at the Jerez circuit this week.

Simón received the offer to ride for the Bologna factory through his present team manager Jorge Martínez ‘Aspar’, and he stood in for the injured test rider Franco Battaini who hurt his wrist at the same track in a previous test.

The Spanish rider finished the two days satisfied with his work, and the Ducati technical staff present were also pleased after Simón gathered valuable information for the development of the bike thanks to constant lap times around the 1’41” mark. Simón also successfully completed a race simulation, and managed to total 115 laps at the circuit.
