Ricky Cardús replaces Bernat Martínez in Stop and Go team
Moto2™ is powered byThe Moto2 team has terminated its agreement with Martínez due to what the team termed a “non-compliance of his contractual liabilities”.
Ricky Cardús will ride for the Stop and Go Racing Team from the eni Motorrad Grand Prix Deutschland onwards after the team cancelled its contract with Bernat Martínez.
Cardús, nephew of 1990 250cc World Championship runner-up Carlos Cardús, has experience of 600cc bikes thanks to his regular participation in the CEV Buckler (Spanish National Championship). He rode in the previous round of the World Championship at Catalunya as a stand-in for the injured Stefan Bradl on the Viessmann Kiefer Racing team, and will now ride the Bimota chassis this weekend at Sachsenring for the SAG Team, which is managed by Edu Perales.
SAG announced in a press release today they had “decided to terminate the agreement held with Bernat Martínez due to the repeated non-compliance of his contractual liabilities”, and wished the Spaniard well in his future endeavours.
