The RSM Team Scot rider is recovering after a spectacular crash during the Moto2 warm-up session at the Gran Premio bwin de España, and his enthusiasm to race meant he wanted to take to the track before being passed unfit for the race.

Alex de Angelis experienced an unfortunate crash during the Moto2 warm-up at Jerez on Sunday morning, and the San Marinese rider has discussed his physical condition after the fall with motogp.com.

Following various tests at a hospital close to the circuit, De Angelis explained: “I went to hospital for the examinations and everything was fine, but the medics at the circuit preferred that I didn’t race.”

“I am a little disappointed,” he continued. “It’s probable that the doctors were influenced by the dramatic nature of the crash, and for us it is a shame because the team are working hard and the sponsors are investing a lot.”

The former MotoGP rider is sure he will be ready for the next round at Le Mans, and you can review the spectacular crash in the attached video.
